The Mid-term exam will be a web site that describes you and your interest and hobbies. It will have at least seven (7) separate content pages with these themes. A Home main page greeting the visitor with your personal information such as e-mail, telephone, dob, your full name, martial status, Address, city, state, zip code, and any thing else you want to say to your visitor, along with your photo.
Australia, Canada & Russia A hobbies page (Your hobbies, with some of your hobby photos). A travel page (Your travels, cities, countries, states with lots of photos). An E-Mail comment form page similar to assignment 7 but with a textarea for their comments. On the left will be two sets of links using un-ordered list.
The first set will be an ordered list of your 3 best assignments you have done put into the content table without the rollover header you did from Assignment 3.
The second set will be an ordered list of your 2 best help sites, they will open into a new browser window.
You need to create two (2) buttons for each position to be able to create rollovers. Make your own buttons from this site or search for another sites.
Buenos Aries, Argentina Save the buttons to your USB drive under images. The buttons should be about 100 x 30 pixels or smaller. Next create one large table centered on the page with border="1" and about 800 pixels wide and with 2 columns. Then follow these steps.
- The first column should be about 200 pixels wide.
- In this first column set the rowspan to 2 and create a second table with borders="1".
- In this table create rows with only one column.
- In this table you will create navagation link for your index page, best assignments, help and favorites.
- In the first row put your rollover photo with a return link to your index page like assignment 3.
- In the next row use unordered list for your links to the required best assignments, help and favorite sites.
- The second column of the main table which should be about 600 pixels wide and 40 pixels high.
- In the first row of this column create a third table with border="1" which is about 600 pixels wide.
- Create one row about 40 pixels high in this table and place your 4 rollover buttons that you have created plus the XHTML verifier button.
- In the Second row of the Second column Create your main content for your site again perferble in a table.
This is a sample of tables in a table where the Main Table has a fat border, the left column has a cyan table the top gray table is row 1 column 2 of the main table and the content goes in the olive colored table as row 2 of column 2 of the main table.
Look at midterm.html, this is what your Mid-term should look like.Once you have one page of your site perfect, then and only then copy it as a template for all 6 other pages of your site. The final table should be without borders like showned below and all in the same color.
- As you remember the buttons can be sized when you place them just like photos.
- You need to create rollover buttons at the top using Java Script as was shown in the class on Assignment 3.
- Also look at Java Script which is the thing that will make your page look like a professional.
- The Mid-term Exam will be the start of a personal web site. You will present your web page to the class.
- It will consist of an Home page which is made of 3 Tables as described above. See example of five Mid-terms. The left side table will have two sets of links as described above. The top table will have rollover link buttons to each of your sites pages. All of the links will look as if they are displayed into the third table called the content table above. In fact they will call new web pages where the top and left looks identical.
- You will need a minimum of:
- At least 10 separate new graphics and at least one per page.
- Two (2) groups of links in left frame using unordered lists.
- First group is an ordered list to be your three(3) best assignments
- Second group is an order list to be your two(2) best HTML help sites
- I will look for these areas to grade the web site:
- Overall layout and appearance.
- Did you use tables within tables. The use of Frames will result in 60% reduction of your mid-term grade
- Spelling errors count as -2 for each error.
- Images that don't have the correct aspect ratio will cost you -4 points for each one.
- Page sizes more than 30kb per page will count as -1 point for every 2kb over 30kb.(a 90kb of images on a page loses -30 points)
- The ability for your user to navigate between all of the pages.
